Vine Maple Place aims to end homelessness in South King County.
Each year the Nist Family Fund selects a non-profit organization to support.
The 2019 Christmas Giving and 2020 STB Golf Tournament recipient chosen was Vine Maple Place; an organization whose mission is to assist families in crisis by helping single parents and their children build lives of safety, stability, and greater economic sufficiency.
In December 2019, Seattle Tacoma Box Company supported Vine Maple Place for our Christmas Giving. Vine Maple Place utilizes a unique and innovative approach to meet the needs of homeless families. Recognizing that there is a path that leads to homelessness, we strive to meet families wherever they are in their crisis, toxic stress, and trauma. As a team, parents, volunteers, and staff work collaboratively to implement a custom action plan that emphasizes each family members’ strengths, assets, and challenges. STB employees donated a total of 30 gift cards for basic needs assistance, along with 6 warm coats, 1 pair of winter boots, and 14 towels, and over $1,000 in direct financial donations!
The company matched each gift card donation with a $25 donation and matched payroll deductions dollar for dollar! The total STB donation was over $1,750. More good news, a third-party donor to Vine Maple Place also matched all donations made during December so all of our contributions were tripled in impact!
